Death Valley

Driving from Lone Pine, California, which looks out onto Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous United States at 4,421m (14,505ft), to various landmarks in Death Valley. Mount Whitney was quite a contrast to Death Valley, which has the lowest point in the United States at 282 feet/85.5 metres below sea level.
Death Valley is the land of extremes; the lowest, driest, and hottest area in North America, Death Valley was ironically beautiful in its own barren way.
